Our outfitter in the Yukon has two different ranges in the Yukon that produce record class Sheep. These areas consist of mountain terrain, lakes, streams, alpine meadows, and glaciers. It provides an ideal setting for hunting trophy Big Game. Kluane is a great area for combo hunts with Sheep, Moose, Caribou, and Grizzly Bear. The Devilhole range is a more physically demanding hunt, with a lot of backpacking & hiking involved. The rams in this area will average 36-38 inches with great mass. Over the years a number of rams from these areas have qualified for the B&C record book. Not only are they large curl rams, but also a very high density of rams are found in these locations. The elevation ranges from 3,500 to 7,000 ft.
The accommodations on the Yukon hunts are log cabins & spike camps. The log cabins are dry and warm. They accommodate two hunters comfortably and are equipped with wood heating stoves, beds and mattresses. The majority of hunting is done on horseback. Each hunter is accompanied by a guide skilled at stalking game, handling horses, and caring for trophies. All hunts are 1 on 1 unless otherwise requested. In most cases, hunters and their guides operate from spike camps away from base-camp. This is accomplished easily with sturdy horses equipped with the best of saddles and pack gear; allowing the hunter to cover more ground and increasing his chances of collecting a trophy animal. You should be prepared for a wide range of weather conditions.
